Closing a Club
Q.
How do I go
about winding-up and surrendering the
charter of my Lions Club?
A.
Obtain a letter from the serving Governor
notifying LCI of your intention to close is
sufficient to action this.
Please note the following:
1. Any dues accounts should be paid prior to
the closing.
2. Copy of Club Minutes - the date when the
Club is cancelling it's Charter.
3. It would be wise to request that a small
amount of funds be retained by the district
in order to pay any unexpected shortfall in
billings.
4. Remaining funds would need to be
surrendered to the District's Administration
and Activities accounts respectively.
5. Forward to District a list of names of
Members resigning or Transferring.
6. The Charter and all remaining club
property is to be collected or surrendered
to the District via an appointed Officer
Directories
Q.
How does MD201 decide how many directories
my club gets?
A. Club Secretaries are
asked to indicate how many hard copy or CD
directories you need. If they don't indicate
what you need, you are sent directories
according to the formula in the
Constitution.
Q. How are we charged for
directories?
A. Your club only pays for
the number of directories it receives.
Q. I didn't get enough
directories; what can I do about it?
A. Contact the National
office and they can send out additional
copies. Note: The rate for additional copies
is higher due to increased handling charges.
Q. The information in the
directory is wrong; what can I do about it?
A. We can't make changes
once the directory has been received. Make
sure that your club and cabinet secretary
have the correct details so that next year's
directory will be correct.
