The Lions International Peace Poster Contest was
created in 1988 to give young people an opportunity to express their feelings
about peace. Since then, more than 1.9 million children from approximately 65
countries have participated in the annual contest.
"Peace begins
With Me" is the theme
of the 2008-09 Peace Poster Contest. Lions clubs can sponsor the program in
their community for children in local schools or organized, sponsored youth
groups. Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate.
Through the contest, students are encouraged to visually depict their
interpretation of the contest's theme.
Lions clubs may
purchase a contest kit through the Club Supplies Sales Department. For an order

A kit must be purchased for each contest sponsored. The contest must be
sponsored by a Lions club.
