Welcome to the Lions 2008-09 year and I trust you all have an enjoyable year.

Many thanks to the enthusiastic Lions who have accepted a position on this years Cabinet and with a combined team effort we will enhance the status of District C1.

My Theme for the year is “Serving Beyond The Horizon”.

The town of Minlaton, my home town, is well known for the Captain Harry Butler Memorial and his plane “The Red Devil” which he used for flying demonstrations and air services between Adelaide and Minlaton before finally crashing near his home town.

Just as Captain Harry Butler served beyond his local area in the infant Air Force during World War 1 and later in an air mail service in South Australia, I will serve as District Governor  beyond my own club and throughout our District and in the Multiple District.

I also request that clubs also look outside their own clubs and participate in District, Multiple District and International Projects.

Lioness Helen and I wish you all a successful year.
