VALE, LION ARTHUR CAMERON
Arthur joined
Ballan Lions Club, Victoria in 1979 and moved to Ashford with his
wife Glad and son Daryl in 1982 when he bought the sheep and cattle
property “Cawdor” and he transferred to Ashford Lions Club.
Arthur
continued his Lions service with LL Glad and was involved in every
activity happening. He was also involved in all community events in
Ashford including the P&C of Ashford School, Ashford Show Society,
Sundowner Hostel, Tennis, Bowling, Golf, BBQ’s and Bingo.
During his
time in Lions, Archie as he was known, was awarded Citizen of the
Year and Life Membership of Ashford School P&C and Ashford Show
Society. He held many positions in community organisations.
Archie sold
his property in 2002 and moved into town to retire. He became ill on
the 18th July 2007 and passed away on the 31st
December 2007 having had cancer for only five and a half months.
He was a
treasured Member of the Lions Club of Ashford and leaves behind his
partner LL Glad, son Daryl, daughter Lois and two grandchildren. |
