Lion Bob Perrett

Lions Club of Taree

Francis David (Bob) Perrett
Died 16th September 2008, aged 88.

VALE, LION BOB PERRETT

Bob Perrett joined Karumburra Lions Club in February 1977.

Lion Bob has been a member of Lions for 31 years with a 100% attendance record.

Lion Bob is a Melvin Jones Fellow.

Bob has also received numerous appreciation awards over the years the last being in February 2007.

Bob was always one of the first to welcome new members into Lions as he realised new members are the life blood of Lions.

Bobby organised the raffle prize for the dinner meeting for as long as we can remember, only recently handing this job over to Tony his offsider, "The Young Bloke" as he called him.

One project Bob really enjoyed was Race Gates. Bob used to look after the gate and controlled who went in and out. Even if Bart Cummings had come along without a ticket he wouldn’t have got past Bob. We called Bob the Gate Police.

Bob knew every trainer and bookie and wanted to know if a horse was going to win or not. In fact if Bob wanted to know something about anything he would ask there and then no matter who else was there.

Bob was also a keen gardener, knowing when and where to plant anything. His is the Best Mulberry tree in Taree!

Lion Bobby Perrett was a well respected and valuable member of Taree Lions Club and will be sadly missed by all.
