Lion Brian Paull

Lions Club of Narrabri

Brian passed away on the 13th August 08 after a long battle with cancer.

Brian was a Life member of The Lions Club of Narrabri and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

VALE, LION BRIAN PAULL. ( Lion “BP”)

Lion Brian joined the Narrabri Lions Club in April 1969 and was an active member for over 39 years, attending all meetings and contributing to all club activities.

He served the Club as Treasurer no less than 8 times. He has been a Club Board Director numerous times. In more recent times he has held the position of Lioness Club Liaison Officer, a position where he was sincerely appreciated by the Lioness Club.

Lion Brian has been recognised many times for his service to Lions & the Community, including 100% Treasurer a number of times & several President’s Appreciation Awards.

During his time with the Club, Brian was a tireless worker on some of the early projects, including the Cooma Oval Sporting Complex and out Lawn Cemetery. This involved many man-hours on working bees & fundraising.

During the early eighties Brian ventured into a business partnership with 2 other Lions, Lion Phil Hill & Lion Paul Thurn. They leased a small river property and produced Lucerne hay. They were affectionately known as “the phantom farmers”

Shortly after starting his 4th decade of service to the community, the Lions Club Bestowed “Life Membership” upon Lion Brian, which was presented as a surprise at the Club’s annual changeover Dinner, where Lion Brian was performing his usual duty as Master of Ceremonies.

Lion Brian was our longest standing member and he often related his memories of the early years in our Lions Club.
