Lions District 201N3

Structure:-

Lions District 201N3 is a Service Club Organisation incorporated under NSW law. It exists to provide an administrative structure to advance the purposes and objects of the Association of Lions Clubs within the boundaries of our district. The boundary towns (at 2008) are Umina, Singleton, Mudgee, Mendooran, Scone, Gloucester and Fingal Bay.

The District operates under a Constitution and a set of Policy Minutes. The Constitution can only be varied by resolution of a District Convention, while the Policy Minutes are a continuing live document determined by the governing body (called the Cabinet) to aid in the administration of the District.

Members of the Cabinet are appointed by the District Governor, who is elected by the delegates at each annual District Convention. A District Governor and Cabinet serve a one-year term, although many Cabinet Officers are re-appointed to serve in later years.

Each Cabinet Officer looks after a particular facet or project of the district. All are responsible through the District Governor to our constituent clubs for the operation of their portfolio. In many cases, the success or otherwise of a project can be tied directly to the dedication and capabilities of the portfolio chairman.

The 2008-2009 simplified district structure is as shown below.

All are un-paid volunteers, and all spend many hours on district work over and above their normal club responsibilities.
