Youth of the Year Quest

Aims & Eligibility:-

The Youth of the Year Quest, run by the Lions Clubs of Australia, aims to encourage students aged 16-18 years old to take an active, constructive leadership role in their community. It seeks a high level of academic, leadership, sporting, public speaking and citizenship achievement, and to this end, winners are selected by judging panels from local club level through to national winners. The final national winner receives an overseas trip to represent Australia at an international youth conference or to undertake a specific overseas study tour, but along the way, various other prizes are offered.

Major  Sponsor:-

The National Australia Bank Community Link program provides significant sponsorship support to the Youth of the Year Quest on a national basis.

Youth Leadership Weekend Camp:-

Every club-level Youth of the Year winner is automatically invited to attend an exciting full weekend of Leadership Development training, conducted each year by experienced youth trainers. Some youth representatives from other districts may also be invited to participate from time to time.

This camp is being held at the WEC Recreation Camp at Nentoura Road Morisset from Friday night 29th May 2010 through to Sunday afternoon 31st May 2010 - at no cost to club winner participants. Despite initial hesitation by some students, ALL participants in past camps have given the weekend rave reviews. It's a prize in itself worth winning.
