Youth of the Year Quest

Aims & Eligibility:-

The Youth of the Year Quest, run by the Lions Clubs of Australia, aims to encourage students aged 16-18 years old to take an active, constructive leadership role in their community. It seeks a high level of academic, leadership, sporting, public speaking and citizenship achievement, and to this end, winners are selected by judging panels from local club level through to national winners. The final national winner receives an overseas trip to represent Australia at an international youth conference or to undertake a specific overseas study tour, but along the way, various other prizes are offered.

Every club-level Youth of the Year winner is automatically invited to attend an exciting full weekend of Leadership Development training, conducted each year by experienced youth trainers. Some youth representatives from other districts may also be invited to participate from time to time.

This camp is being held at the WEC Recreation Camp at Morisset from Friday night 29th May 2009 through to Sunday afternoon 31st May 2009 - at no cost to club winner participants. Despite initial hesitation by some students, ALL participants in past weekends have given the camp rave reviews. It's a prize in itself worth winning.
