CAMP   ACTIVITIES

There will be a full and exciting program of physical and cultural activity including;

Bush walks, featuring the melodic sound of bellbirds, the raucous call of the kookaburra, and an Australian BBQ lunch.

Fun filled days are being planned for you.  There will be an opportunity for you to sail on beautiful Lake Macquarie.  You will cycle through scenic areas to Blackbutt Reserve where you will see kangaroos, wallabies, emus, wombats, quolls and koalas. There are also many birds in this delightful park - the pride of Newcastle.

Sporting activities will include Ice Skating, Beach Volley Ball, Badminton, ‘Aussie Rules’ Football and Table Tennis.

Australia is famous for its Surf Lifesavers, and thousands of them patrol beaches around the country in the summer months and have saved countless lives. There will be a visit to one of our best beaches and depending on conditions at the time, an opportunity to surf under the guidance of our Life Savers.

A highlight of the camp will be a trip to Sydney's Manly Beach.  You will then enjoy a  40 minute scenic journey on a Ferry across Sydney Harbour to Circular Quay.  You will be able to enjoy the sights of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Gardens.  We will take you on a walk through the historic ‘Rocks’ area in Sydney and then on to Darling Harbour.

The camp site has plenty of space for indoor activities.  At night there will be time for fun.  You can sing and dance or relax around the fire.  A disco evening is planned and an opportunity for you to tell everyone something about your country.  If you play a musical instrument you may like to bring it along too.

The final daily program will be determined by the Camp Director who will provide sufficient flexibility to accommodate variations in weather and unforeseen circumstance.
