Greetings Lions!

Marg and I have just returned from Bangkok where there were squillions of Lions to meet and mingle with.

The first week was taken up with training in Pattaya. My 'schooling group' consisted of 6 x Turks, 4 x Canadians, 1 x Englishman, 6 x Americans and 3 x Australians. As a group we spent some 5 days together and found that all countries face similar challenges.

Our Contestant wins the State Final of YOTY

Youth of the Year State Winner with DG Ross

Daniella Panaccio, sponsored by the Lions Club of Melbourne Host and our District moves on to the NAB Youth of the Year National Final.

Daniella who attends The Mac.Robertson Girls' High will travel to Darwin to compete against other state winners at the National MD201 Convention in May.

The picture shows Daniella with an elated Immediate Past District Governor Ross Wood.

157 Lions and guests attended the event which was hosted at the Tatura Golf Club. Daniella was supported by her family, friends and representatives from, Heidelberg-Waringal, Yarra, Strathfieldsaye, Charlton, Melbourne host, Essendon, Brunswick and Sebastopol. Many of those clubs travelled to Darwin in May to support Daniella at the Final.

District Convention - Report

Convention Dance

The first District Convention for our newly merged district was held on the weekend of October 26th to 28th at the University of Ballarat.
The host club was the Lions Club of Bunninyong-Mt Helen.

Proceedings commenced on the Friday evening with a flag
ceremony followed by welcoming speeches from the host club and the Mayor of Ballarat. The official opening was then
conducted by the Vice Chancellor of the University. Interspersed with these formalities was entertainment from the Bunninyong Primary School and a local soloist........Read More

This competition is for each club in 201 V1-4 to enjoy a fun break from meetings and to compete on an even keel regardless of member numbers. Any club with unusual results may be subject to drug testing.

Melbourne Chinese Club Donate $20,000 to Sight First 2

Cheque Presentation

Members of the club are shown presenting Past International President Frank J Moore 111 the cheque.

We are pleased to announce that more than A$220,000 was raised during dinners and events in Wagga Wagga, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, bringing our total funds-raised in Multiple District 201, Australia to more than $1,300,000.
