YOUTH EXCHANGEPDG Ivan Panton reports: The V2 District Orientation Seminar will be held at the Dear Park Senior Citizens Club Rooms on October 15th 9.30 am – 10 am Start. Please refer to the September newsletter for contact details - numbers are requried by 8th October. Approx cost: $9.00 – $10.00 per head. Districts V1,V4,V5,Chairpersons and their Exchangees have indicated that they will attend. We also have Exchangees going to Brazil and USA. this year. I have a list of Host Families which are in Western ,Wimmera also Melbourne Western Suburbs of V2 District. I would like to see Clubs from Geelong and Coastal Areas to become involved in Hosting. "TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT" Lion Ken Johnston, Leo Chairman and myself will be speaking at Edenhope on the 15th of August on Youth Exchange and Leos. I am prepared to come to any Club to speak on Hosting or Youth Exchange or both. WHAT IS YOUTH EXCHANGE? Is it the world’s best kept secret? Sometimes it appears that way!! LIONS YOUTH EXCHANGE is the embodiment of the first Object of Lions Clubs International – “To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the people of the world”. |

Young Leaders in ServiceCabinet Chairman Mike Trevena reports: With this project your Club can promote and encourage involvement in community service to Youth in your area. Awards are granted to recognize 2 levels of service over a period of 12 months. A Silver Award for 50 hours service. A Gold Award for 100 hours service. These certificates are signed by our International President and can be presented to participants at a special club function , maybe your Youth of The Year club final. Several clubs in our District have been involved with this program your secretary may have a Young Leaders in Service kit on file. Please contact me if I can help you become involved with this great youth project. |
