DG David Jones and Singing Lion

150 Lions and Guests assembled at the Clayton RSL to see District Governor David Jones takeover from Don Owen.

During the evening many awards were presented to District Officers.

Best Club Bulletin and other awards were also handed out to Club representatives.

Master of Cermonies Lion John Coulsen finished up the evening's festivities, and the the guests danced the night away.

Picture above shows DG David with his singing lion which was a gift for incoming Cabinet secretary PDG Bea Ahearn.

Desmond Kelaart receives a James D. Richardson Honour Award for his year as Cabinet Treasurer.

 

 

 

 

Lion Bob Gatherum, a past District Newsletter editor for V5, presents the Bob Gatherum Award for the best club newsletter 2007-2008 to Lions Club of Moorabbin.

Lion Stuart Moyne accepts the award on their behalf.

 

 

 

Desmond Kelaart, District Treasurer for 2007-2008 presents the best club Treasurer Award to Lin Byron from the Lions Club of Waverley.

 

 

 

 

IPDG Don Owen presented Rules and ByLaw Chairman Ron Smith with a William R. Tresise Fellowship for the countless hours he has put in over the past year in getting our constitution up-to-date.

 

 

 

 

PDG Neil Brown received a thoroughly well-earned Ian M. Stockdale Humanitarian Award for his work as Cabinet Secretary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lion Ann Hehir was presented with a Melvin Jones Fellowship for her outstanding devotion to both Lions and Lioness over many years.

Ann is the one who is always there when you need her and always the first to volunteer.

 

 

 

 

 

PDG Sue Owen received an Appreciation plaque from husband Don for all her help throughout the year, including driving him to all club visits.
