Keeping families together
The Lions House foundation Inc. aims to provide affordable accommodation for families from outer metropolitan, rural and interstate regions who have loved ones receiving treatment at the Mercy Hospital for Woman and the Austin Health in Melbourne, through the building of ‘Lions House’.
There is a need for this type of accommodation to be available close at hand as traveling to and from hospital, plus the cost of accommodation can be stressful and financially crippling for a family. Separation by distance can cause extreme emotional stress and sometimes guilt. Keeping loved ones together in these difficult times, helps decrease the recovery period by providing vital comfort only a family member can give.
To enable Lions House to be built to benefit rural and interstate communities we need to raise $5 million. All proceeds from donations and fundraising go directly to the Foundation towards the building of accommodation and facilities.
