THE COST OF A HART WALKER
The cost of
the Hart Walker per child is dependent on the number of years the child is in
the Walker. Most children would be able to be fitted with a Walker from the age
of three years onwards. They would grow out of the Walker when their leg length
exceeds 84cm (usually around the age 12).
The cost is
broken down into two components:
Initial
Costs -
Purchase of the Hart Walker
International Freight
Purchase of Orthopaedic Shoes
Orthotist fee - Assessment, measuring, fitting and adjustment sessions for 12
months
TOTAL:
$6,620
(This cost
may vary depending on the exchange rate.)
The cost
for every year thereafter that the child is in the Walker including:
·
Regular
monitoring and adjustments by Orthotist
·
Regular
monitoring and adjustments by Physiotherapist
·
Replacement Orthopaedic Shoes
·
Replacement parts when required
TOTAL:
$1000 per annum
We have
been working on a six year span for a child to be in a Walker. This equates to
$11,620 for the individual child's program that includes the first year costs
and five subsequent years of monitoring.
