INVITATION to all lions
“Walk for an Aussie Kid!”®
We have pleasure in inviting you to join in our
annual promotion.
By doing so, you can help provide Hart Walkers
or other mobility devices to help children with
Cerebral Palsy or other moderate to severe
disabilities to walk, often for the first time.
Our aim, with the help of the Lions Clubs and
the Australian community, is to raise the funds
required to ensure that every one of these
children has the opportunity to be fitted with a
Hart Walker or suitable mobility device to allow
them to walk unaided.
“Walk for an Aussie Kid!”
® is the major fundraising effort of the
Australian Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation
launched in September this year. We are pleased
to have the support of the WIN Television
Network, and the support of most of the major
networks throughout Australia for the
“Walk for an Aussie Kid”
promotion.
We understand that this will be just one of many
activities which your club will be invited to
participate in, and we are aware of the
constraints on members time these days more than
ever. Nevertheless, we hope that you will give
consideration to helping us to achieve our goal,
as we know that most communities show a great
willingness to do something to help less
fortunate children.
We invite you to plan your own fundraising event
as part of the national effort and join with
thousands around the country to help Aussie kids
to walk.
The rewards for participation will be knowing
that your efforts have not only helped to put
smiles on the faces of many more children when
they are able to take their first independent
steps in their Hart Walker, but have helped to
provide all the additional health and social
benefits which result.
