Drug Action Week 20th to 24th June 2011 in Northern
Suburbs of Adelaide
The Local Drug Action Team
participated in Drug Action Week at three (3) Northern Suburban Shopping
Centres.
On Monday 20th
June, SA Police, Drug Arm and the Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation
participated with manned displays at the Elizabeth City Shopping Centre from
9.00am to 4.00pm.
We were all keep very busy
with enquiries from the members of the Public
On Tuesday 21st June, SA
Police, Drug Arm and the Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation
participated with manned displays at the Parabanks Shopping Centre at
Salisbury from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
We were all keep very busy
with enquiries from the members of the Public.
On Thursday 23rd June, SA
Police, Drug Arm and the Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation
participated with manned displays at the Hollywood Plaza Shopping Centre at
Salisbury Downs from 12.00 noon to 8.00pm.

The displays consisted of
posters. brochures hand outs of balloons , Frisbees, show bags,TINO and
“Hugs Not Drugs” stickers, water bottles and stress balls. Videos and DVD
were operating on LCD screens along with a laptop with Tune In Not Out live
support with DVD’s “ICE” and “Alcohol and your Brain”. Another attraction
was the motor racing Video arcade units free on charge for the youth to use
( 4 laps before using “Booze goggles” so that they could see what it would
be like driving after drinking).
