BIG BOOK ON CANNABIS |
 |
The Foundation offers this
publication in the series as

material. This one is an
excellent publication called
"The Big Book on Cannabis". It
was produced by Uniting Care
Moreland Hall and is a fantastic

minimisation focus and presents
information in an interesting
way with eye catching cartoon
illustrations throughout.
The booklet takes a considered
and rational look at cannabis

BIG BOOK ON PARTY DRUGS |
 |
The Foundation offers this
publication in the series as
part of its growing resource
material.
This one is an excellent
publication called "The Big Book
on Party Drugs" it was produced
by Uniting Care Moreland Hall
and is a fantastic resource for
the classroom or the home. While
there's a lot of information
(and misinformation) about party
drugs - including ecstasy,
cocaine, LSD, speed, crystal
meth, ketamine, GHB - we don't
know enough about their long
term effects. However, we do
know that all drugs are
potentially harmful and that
taking them involves risks.
"Harm minimisation" is a helpful
attitude towards drugs and
safety. Without condoning drug
use, it accepts that some people
use illegal drugs in the dance,
party and club scenes. It aims
to reduce the dangers of using
drugs while promoting good
safety practices,
These books will be valuable
part of any school program and a
must for any family with
children. |

MOVERS & SHAKERS CARDS |
 |
This is another quality product
developed by Connecting Kids
Company which we, the
Foundation, feel is a wonderful
resource for any classroom
situation.
The cards are designed to
stimulate students ideas and
action when working together in
small groups.
The cards present ideas for
issues which can be addressed in
group work, either with class
groups or student leaders.
They encourage positive group
work by assigning individual
tasks to group members and by
providing a variety of ideas for
presentation of student work.
Although the cards cover
personal and community concerns,
teachers of different academic
subjects can use different sets
of cards in conjunction with
class topics.
The Foundation feels that the
cards assist students to make
decisions and learn to
communicate better in many
different situations.This will
certainly assist them as they
develop into adulthood. |
