Albany City Holden wins Lions Award
Albany City Holden’s ongoing support for Lions Australia has delivered an unexpected benefit with the local business winning national recognition and a $500 prize for local Lions.
"At a national level, Holden has been an incredible supporter of the work of Lions Australia and Scott Leary and the team at Albany City Holden have been magnificent in helping us promote Lions Australia and the work of local Lions throughout the state’s south west," Lions Australia's Executive Officer Rob Oerlemans said.
"The active partnership between Albany City Holden and local Lions which resulted in tremendous promotion of, and support for our District Convention in September 2009, is proof positive of a genuine community spirit."

Lions Wrap Up A Roaring Event With The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre

More than 12,000 people from over 150 countries around the world gathered in Sydney this month for one of the biggest annual events this city has seen, the 93rd Annual Lions International Convention 2010.
And while the logistical challenges of mounting one of Sydney’s largest events were great, the convention went off without a hitch, with consensus noting it was a milestone event for both Lions and the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
70 year old Lion cycles 4000 km Perth to the Sydney Lions International Convention
In an effort that leaves us lesser mortals reaching for the ‘heat rub’ and Epsom salts, courageous 70 year old Sheila has completed a 4000km cycling odyssey from Bunbury, Western Australia.
Sheila is joining the estimated 15,000 Lions from around the world in Sydney for its gathering to celebrate nearly 100 years of worldwide humanitarian service. Sheila arrived on Friday the 25th of June on a journey that was not only a physical challenge, but a humanitarian one where she was raising money for cancer research.
Follow this link to see how Prime Television reported the story as Sheila left Dubbo.
