Senior Lions Leadership Institute - Wellington NZ Sept 23-26 2010

The purpose of the Senior Lions Leadership Institute is to provide Lions leaders with an opportunity to enhance skills in preparation for leadership responsibilities at the zone, region and district levels.

The next Senior Lions Leadership Institute for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia & Islands of the Pacific Ocean will be offered in Wellington, New Zealand on September 23-26, 2010. We seek your assistance to help recruit qualified Lion participants for the institute. It is a valuable opportunity to build on skills that enhance the leadership qualities at the zone, region and district levels.

The institute in Wellington is designated as a Senior Lions Leadership Institute and is targeted to Lions in good standing that have completed a successful term as club president, but have not yet attained the position of first vice district governor. Lions who are region and zone chairpersons, as well as second vice district governors are encouraged to apply to this institute.

Candidates do not have to hold a position currently (for details, see the application materials which are obtainable from your District Governor).

Lions Clubs International will pay for meals and lodging in strict accordance with the schedule of the institute. Additionally, LCI will make appropriate hotel reservations for each participant on a twin-share basis. Participants are responsible for all travel expenses to and from the determined venue in Wellington, New Zealand, inclusive to all relevant ground transportation charges.

Please help us to recruit for this institute in Wellington by seeking a copy of the application packet from your District Governor, to Lions leaders in your district, including your region and zone chairpersons, to remind them of this event. Please ask them to promote the institute and actively encourage qualified candidates to apply. We will be accepting fifty (50) Lions total for one English speaking classroom.

PARTICIPANT QUALIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for this institute must be from the constitutional area of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia & Islands of the Pacific Ocean.

2. Candidates must be Lions in good standing who have completed a successful term as club president, but have not yet attained the position of first vice district governor. Lions members who are currently serving as club presidents will be considered on a space available basis.

3. Candidates must be willing to commit to attending all days of the institute, including group mealtimes, and understand personal time is extremely limited. Attendance at all classroom sessions and scheduled meals is mandatory.

4. Graduates of this institute are expected to pursue higher levels of leadership responsibilities at the zone, region and district levels.
