When you join LEO's you become a member of a world wide organisation with more than 5,600 LEO Clubs and a membership in excess of 140,000 operating under the sponsorship of Lions clubs in 137 nations.

In Australia and Papua New Guinea there are currently over 1,400 Leos who are members of 72 Leo clubs. These Leo clubs have proud records of achievement in all areas of service to their local communities. All of our clubs provide ample opportunity for their members to learn and be involved.

Today's international Leo Club program began with a single club at Abington High School, Pennsylvania, USA, organised in 1957 by the Glenside Lions Club. The first Leos Club in Australia was formed in Ingham in 1968. There are now 72 Leos Clubs in Australia, with 62 school based clubs. The first Leo club in Australia was formed at Ingham in 1968.

Leo club members are between the ages of 12 and 28. Like the members of their sponsoring Lions club, Leo club members volunteer to serve their communities.
