Leo's
Coffee Bar Project
Leo Club of Hornsby
developed an idea of setting up coffee tents in the areas ravished by bushfires
in Victoria. This was their way of thinking of and assisting their fellow
youth. As time passed the ides of tents are being replaced with a room.
Club members in conjunction
with Myer Hornsby retail store, organised a fashion parade and raised the money
for the coffee bars. Fashion parade was featured in the "Lion" June - July.
Hornsby's Leo Advisor Bill
Bradley and his wife Clover travelled south for a weekend with a vehicle full of
coffee bars. With the assistance of Lion Kerry McFadzean of Marysville Club and
District, the Bradley's were able to set up the first of their Leo's coffee bars
in the Orange Room at the Marysville's relocation village. Leo coffee bars will
soon be in Flowerdale, Whittlesea and Kinglake.
