55th MD Lions National Convention - Darling Harbour - Sydney 2007

2007 MD Leo Conference – Darling Harbour Convention Centre.

A total of over 100 Leos attended the 2007 MD Leo Conference held over five days at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney between the 16^th – 20^th May.

The highlight of the conference was the final of the MD Leo of the Year Quest, which was won by Leo Hannah Bellwood from the Cathedral School Leo Club in Q2 representing Queensland.  Leo Hannah wins a trip around all Australian States in January 2008 with the current State Finalists from the Youth of the Year Quest. Other Leo State Finalists were Daniel Eiszele (Tasmania), Dale Sommerville (NSW), Amanda Rickman (WA) and Tina Hosseini representing Victoria.

Those Leos attending the Conference were accommodated at the Sydney Central YHA and besides attending two half day conference sessions, were involved in the opening Flag Ceremony, the march through Darling Harbour, a rooftop BBQ at the YHA and a Manly Ferry harbour cruise. Some Leos also attended the 60^th Anniversary Annual Convention Ball at the Cockle Bay Reception Centre.

Due to the tyranny of distance, there will be no Leo Conference next year at the Darwin Convention however, the Leos voted to hold their next Leo Conference in Melbourne from the 2^nd May –5^th May 2009 during the MD 201 Melbourne Lions Convention.
