LEO PROMOTION REPORT - 2008-2009

Subject: REPORT ON LEO PROMOTION AT DISTRICT CONVENTIONS WITH LEO REECE COLMAN 2008 MD201 AND INTERNATIONAL LEO OF THE YEAR

For your attention, I wish to provide an Overview of Leo Reece's visits to District Conventions to Actively Promote the Leo Program.

"After winning the MD201 and International Leo of the Year, Leo Reece had the Opportunity to Travel to Six Different District Conventions to Promote the Leo Program.

The Conventions were the Five District Conventions in his home State of NSW and One Convention in S.A.

Using a joint Presentation with NSW State Leo Coordinator, Martin Peebles, Leo Reece was able to embark on the First part of his mission for the Year, breaking down the barriers between the Older Generations of Lions and the Youth of Today.

The First Convention on a Five Week Journey was 201N1 held in Tamworth. At this Convention, Reece had the opportunity to meet with Leos from Tamworth and Maclean. The Leo Reception on the Friday Night took place at Tamworth Ten Pin and allowed us to kick up our heels and have Fun with the Leos in the true spirit of Lets Enjoy Ourselves. After Leo Reece carried the Leo Flag in the Opening Ceremony, our Presentation took place on the Saturday Morning and was very well received by District Governor Malcolm Merrick and All Conventioneers. After Lunch we attended the 201N1 Leo Conference which allowed us to collaboratively tackle the issues facing Leos. We also promoted Leos through a stand in the Display Area where Reece had an opportunity to meet as many Conventioneers as possible.

The Next Convention was 201N5 held in Cessnock. At this Convention, Leo Reece had the opportunity to meet Past International President Kajit Habanananda from Thailand, who was very impressed with the work we were doing with Leos. Leo Reece also had the opportunity to catch up with our very committed Assistant NSW State Leo Coordinator, Gail Hart and we had the Opportunity to recognize Gail for her great work during our presentation which was very well received by District Governor Elvio Munzone and all Conventioneers. I am pleased to report that a New Club is in the Formation Process with at least another Club in the Planning. Once these two Clubs are formed, 201N5 will have 6 Clubs and be in a position to form a Single Leo District early in 2009.

The Third Convention was 201N2 held in Merimbula NSW. This Convention was Leo Reece's Home District and was attended by 14 other Leos. Leo Reece assisted with the Leo Promotional Display and participated in the Formation Meeting of Leo District 201N2. At the Meeting, Leo Reece was elected to the Position of Secretary. Our Presentation to Convention took place on Saturday Afternoon and Leo Reece was honored to receive his International Leo of the Year Medal from District Governor Phil Lawler.

Leo Reece's Fourth Convention was at District 201C1 in Port Lincoln SA. Leo Reece very much enjoyed the experience as it gave him the Opportunity to visit a Place for the First Time. Reece's Presentation was well received and he was very well looked after by SA Leo Coordinator Bronte Cameron. At the Convention he also had the Opportunity to catch up with Council Chairman Bob and Cheryl Buckley, who continue to give him great encouragement and support.

Leo Reece's Fifth Convention was 201N3 in Argenton NSW. Our Presentation was on Saturday and was very well received by District Governor Ann Ryan and all Conventioneers. It was pleasing to catch up with some Leos from local Clubs. At the Convention Leo Reece assisted with the Leo display stand and took the opportunity to speak to as many Conventioneers as possible. Leo Reece was pleased to catch up with Past International Director Cliff and Helen Heywood after meeting them at the 201C1 Convention. PID Cliff is very supportive of Reece.

Leo Reece's Sixth and last Convention was at 201N4 in Griffith NSW. District 201N4 has special significance to Reece and in essence is where his Lions/Leos Journey started. Our presentation allowed Reece to thank the people who had supported his Family as well as encouraging them to further promote the work of Youth. Leo Reece took the opportunity to assist, District Leo Chairman, PDG Peter Perry with the Leo Promotional Display. He also had the opportunity to meet PID Ron Luxton as well as members of the Riverina New Century Lions Club. This was a great Convention thanks to the ongoing support and encouragement of Leos from District Governor Bob Moore. Following our successful presentation, I am very confident we will see some Leo Clubs in that District very soon!!

Since the beginning of October, I have had the opportunity to travel to District Conventions with a remarkable and inspirational Young Australian who is an excellent Ambassador for Leos in Australia and Across the World.

Leo Reece is a tribute to our Multiple District, who I am proud to call a friend.

I trust the above Overview is satisfactory.
