The Lions Australia Emergency Committee met by teleconference earlier this week to determine how to support Queenslanders during the floods.
Many Lions are affected, and we have heard that there is significant damage to Camp Kanga one of Lions well-used youth programs. Of course, as you would expect, Lions are also working hard to help others in their community affected by the floods.
The Australian Lions Foundation, ALF, has already been active in this matter and recently granted $25,000 to the Lions Club of Emerald for relief and recovery work in their Region, and now have followed this up with a further $25,000 grant to the Q Districts Flood Appeal being "managed" by Q2 and PDG Bryce Waters.
Lions Clubs can assist with a donation to the District appeal to assist the flood recovery. If they would like to do so, they can forward cheques to District Q2 as follows:
Q' Districts Flood Appeal

PDG Bryce Waters
PO Box 10301
Mt Pleasant 4740
Please note that these donations are NOT tax deductible.
DG Dianne Pyers and her fellow Q' District DGs will work together to ensure the funds are used quickly and effectively, wherever they are needed in Queensland.
