Extract from the Lion February March 2006
National PR Chairman David Savage talks candidly with
International 1st Vice President Jimmy Ross at the 201 C2
District Convention in Mount Gambier
DAVID: Do you have any pet projects?
JIMMY:
Oh I think the Lions Quest. is probably one of my
pet projects. The Lions Quest program is the skills for
adolescents it's a project that goes right into the school
system. It's a curriculum that the teachers are able to use
to instruct the young people on how to stay off the drugs,
fight peer pressure, and I think it's one of our outstanding
projects and I am going to be, as president, seeking funding
for this project
all
over
the world. I would like to see the Lions Quest curriculum in
every school in the world because we as Lions must see that
the young people coming up have a better chance than we
possibly had. Today we have so many diversions for young
people, so much peer pressure, and if we can do anything to
make it easier for them to become successful in all phases
and facets of their life that's what I want us to do and
that's what the Lions Quest program is able to do.
