The BBQ’s and tents were all set up on the Showground the day before so everything was ready when we arrived at 5.30am on the Friday.

Bob Rose (Baulkham Hills) and John Eland (Hills Rural) fired up the BBQ’s so when the rest of the Lions arrived around 6am we were ready to start serving up breakfast to the Channel 9 crew and the few locals that had ventured out at that time of the morning to watch the show. By 7am quite a crowd had arrived and about this time Richard Wilkinson had come over for the first of his 3 visits for a sandwich.
Lions got quite a few mentions on the show, including Richard Wilkins pleading with us not to let him have a fourth sandwich, not good for his waistline. Helen Rose (Crestwood) went around the crowd with a Lions sign while others went around handing out Lions bookmarks and other information about local Lions Clubs.

Samuel Chu (Sydney Pacific), Steve Coleman (Mount Druitt) and Warren Latham (Epping) came along to give a helping hand on the morning to help make it a District PR event.
All in all it was a good morning's work spreading the word and the name of Lions both locally and on national TV. Well over 500 people attended the morning show, which included Guy Sebastian.
