For service to the community, particularly through a range of executive and fundraising roles with the Lions Cancer Institute in Western Australia.

 

Chairman and Screening Manager, Lions Cancer Institute, 1990-2005; current Screening Manager; the Institute has screened nearly 20,000 Western Australians in the past 15 years, and operates a mobile skin cancer screening facility that travels to country areas throughout Western Australia. Current President, Lions Club of Manning; District Governor, District 201W2, responsible for administering approximately 70 Clubs, 1996-1997; various Cabinet positions; associated with Lions International, since 1986.

(Mr Finch was a Member of the Lions Club of Darwin Casuarina, NT, from 1975 to approx 1994 and was involved in the club’s many community projects, including the Beer Can Regatta and a broad range of programmes. In addition, he has provided assistance on the Lions national post-cyclone projects such as Tracy Lodge Aged Care facility, Girl Guide and Scout halls.

 

He held the position of Club President, Zone Chairman (2x), Deputy District Governor 201S3 (2x). Recently, Mr Finch was appointed as an Honorary Lion of his former Club and is a Member of the Organising Committee of Lions MD 201 Convention, 2008.)
