South Australia PDGs Christmas Lunch

Thirty two PDGs and wives enjoyed a Christmas Lunch at the Royal Coach Motel. Our Hosts for the day were PDG Bob and Barbara Rowell. Immediately after the Lunch were we visited by Father Christmas who moved around the dining room and gave all in attendance including other Guests a small gift.

The numbers were down this year due to apologies from many members who were unwell or involved with Club projects and a very large Zone Meeting at Millicent in the South East.

The photo J is a banner that the Late PDG Ern Sconce left to me in his Will, with the names of the District Governors for District 201 N. Ern asked that the banner be kept by the SA PDGs in memory of District 201 N. Photo K is a banner with bannerettes going back to Bill Tresise MBE the Founder of Lions in Australia. PDG Geoff Oates asked me to put it with the banner from 201 N so it would be preserved and hung at all functions held by our Association.

Some of the members present asked what had happened to the banners from 201 J and the other old Districts, no one present knew where they were or what had happened to them.

The next function will be the Annual PJNSC (letters of the various Districts since Lionism started in South Australia in 1961) where the members farewell the new DG Elects before they leave for the International Convention to be inducted.

The Hosts for this Lunch are decided by rotation, this year they will be PDG Bob and Kaye Dewell.
