Lions Tree Day Information

National Treeday

National Tree Day is Australia's largest community tree planting event!

Pictured are Lion Ken Nimmo, his partner Carol Goodwin and 2008 Australian of the Year, country singer Lee Kernaghan.

National Tree Day is a great opportunity for Lions Clubs to interact with the local community and beautify nearby surroundings.

Getting involved is easy!

You can support an existing tree-planting site by putting on a barbecue. You'll need to contact the National Tree Day Hotline 1300 88 5000 to get the details of a local Site Coordinator you can approach to see if they are interested in receiving support.

If it's not an appropriate site to set-up a barbecue your club could consider hosting its own site or get together with a local school, church or community group to host a site. You can visit the National Tree Day website (http://treeday.planetark.org) or call the Hotline (1300 88 5000) to find out what's involved when hosting a site

Remember:

Be sure to let the Lions Tree Day Coordinator, Bryan Pirie know that you are taking part in National Tree Day. Email Bryan at lions@planetark.org with the details of your site or call him on 0412 532 260
